Introduction to Christian Apologetics

TS670 Introduction to Christian Apologetics (2 credits)
May 15-19, 2018; 8:00am to 12:00pm
Instructor: Rev. Eyriche Cortez

This course will walk through the book Twelve Points That Show Christianity Is True: A Handbook On Defending The Christian Faith written by Dr. Norman Geisler. Contemporary society have difficulty accepting that Christianity is true and that Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the world. In today’s dominant culture of tolerance and pluralism, this claim seems so narrow. After all, there are many claimants to truth in the current marketplace of ideas.

The Bible does not call us for a blind faith, but rather a faith that is based on evidence and sound reasoning. It is necessary for a truth seeker to demand reasonable evidence before he or she makes a decision.

This course will help the believer to examine carefully twelve reasons that lead us to conclude that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Each evidence will build logically upon one another. By the end of this course, the student will be equipped: (1) to see whether Christianity is true and the Gospel of Christ is the only way of salvation; and (2) to use reasonable arguments, supporting evidences, and effective conversational methods in explaining the Christian faith for today’s generation.
