Shelley Merritt is the Director of the Partners in Ministry (PIM) certificate program and the PIM English program. She also teaches in PIM, mentors wives of IGSL students, and serves as IGSL Site Director and Instructor for the Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate Program.
Shelley has been involved in ministry most of her life. She grew up in El Dorado, Kansas. During her single years Shelley lived and ministered in Taiwan for three years, during which she gained a love for teaching and for Asia. Nearly 20 years later, she was thrilled when the Lord led her, her husband, and their four children back to Asia, this time to Manila, Philippines—here to IGSL.
Shelley and her husband, Huy, first came to IGSL as full-time students in 2008. They joined faculty in 2011. Shelley is honored to teach and mentor women who will in turn touch lives all over Asia. She, in turn, is honored to learn from these women as well.
Shelley and Huy have four children: Corrie, Drew, Karis, and Jace. Shelley loves spending time with her family, reading, writing, traveling, movies, and coffee dates with friends. She is also interested in languages. She is very thankful to be a small part of what the Lord is doing in this world.
Shelley serves through the mission organization of Commission To Every Nation (CTEN).
